Ross seeded second, Bishop Mac 10th for OFSAA girls’ rugby

GUELPH – The Ross Royals are seeded second for next week’s OFSAA high school AAA girls’ rugby championship tournament.

The defending champion Royals are seeded behind Oakville Trafalgar in the 16-team tournament in Durham Region that is to start Monday.

Others teams in the tournament in order of seeding are St. Roch of Brampton, Arnprior, Uxbridge, Brantford CI, Glebe of Ottawa, Weldon of Lindsay, Saltfleet, Bear Creek of Barrie, Sir Oliver Mowat of Toronto, Cardinal Newman of Toronto, Clarke Road of London, Pickering, Ursuline College of Chatham and Stouffville.

The Royals are to play Ursuline Monday at 2 p.m. at Port Perry.


OFSAA A/AA Girls Rugby

GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics are seeded 10th for the OFSAA A/AA girls’ rugby tournament in the Durham Region.

Trenton is seeded first for the 16-team tournament while other participants, in order of seeding, are Bayside, St. Anne’s of Clinton, Smith’s Falls, St. Joseph’s of Cornwall, Sutton, Barrie North, Ashbury College of Ottawa, Applewood Heights of Mississauga, Beamsville, Burlington Central, Courtice, Newtonbrook, G.L. Roberts of Oshawa and Blenheim.

Bishop Mac is to play Barrie North Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Brooklin.
