Second-half goals lift Celtics to victory

GUELPH – The Bishop Macdonell Celtics struck for a pair of second-half goals as they handed the Guelph CVI Green Gaels a 2-0 setback on the final day of the District 10 high school girls’ soccer league’s regular season.

Georgia Merriman and Mayah Caporika scored the goals for the Celtics while Christina Alexandra picked up the shutout.

Both teams got a chance to see their quarter-final playoff opponent in action as they’re to meet again Thursday at Bishop Mac to open the playoffs.

 

St. James 2 Centennial 2

Olivia Brown scored both goals for St. James.

Lia Reynolds and Breanne Forrest tallied for Centennial.

The teams will play again Thursday at St. James in the quarter-finals.

 

Orangeville 1 Lourdes 1

Klementina Dimouska scored the lone goal for Orangeville.

Hathyna Nyguen netted the goal for Lourdes.

Lourdes is to play at Ross in the quarter-finals while Orangeville is to host Centre Wellington.

 

Ross 3 Centre Wellington 1

Jordan Favari connected for two goals for Ross while Koby Commandant scored the other one.

Ria Hamilton scored for Centre Wellington.
