
Senior girls’ basketball title for Erin Raiders
ERIN – The Erin Raiders captured the District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball crown Tuesday with a 27-16 victory in a low-scoring championship match.
Emma Warren led the Raiders with six points while Lauren Bailey and Rosemary Valentine had five apiece.
Tea Bosiljevak had a game-high nine points for Centre Dufferin and E. Cruikshank added four.
The Raiders had defeated the Royals twice during the regular season, winning 30-14 at home Sept. 21 and 43-33 in Shelburne Oct. 12.
Both teams advance to CWOSSA tournaments this week.
Erin is to compete in the A tournament at Woodland Christian High School in Breslau Friday. They’re to play Delhi in a semifinal at 2:30 p.m. with the winner moving on to the final at 6 p.m.
Centre Dufferin is to compete in the AA tournament at Galt Collegiate Institute in Cambridge Friday and Saturday. The Royals are to play the Galt CI Ghosts in their opener Friday and time of their second game later that day will depend on their result in the opener.
Semifinals are set for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday while the final is to go at 8 p.m.
