Senior hoops teams score victories on home courts

GUELPH – It was home sweet home in District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball play Tuesday as home teams were winners in all three league matches.

Centennial Spartans, Orangeville Bears and St. James Lions scored victories on their home courts.

 

Centennial 47 Guelph CVI 17

Sarah Cobey hit for 21 points for Centennial. Eve Elford replied with eight for GCVI.

 

Orangeville 63 Bishop Macdonell 50

St. James 54 Ross 25

Grace Mencfeld hit for a game-high 24 points for St. James while Amanda Lago followed with 15.

Mikayla Rielly had 10 for Ross and Drue Costello netted six.

 

Junior

Lourdes 31 Centre Wellington 28 (OT)

The Crusaders worked a little extra time for the win as they triumphed in overtime.

Ashley Pallaya led Lourdes with 10 points while Alex Tessier had nine and Melia Tessel added five.

Julie Abra collected 17 for Centre Wellington and Cassidy Tindall had seven.

 

Guelph CVI 54 Centennial 16

Acadia Tremain’s 12 points led GCVI.

Sophie Dankner had four for Centennial.

 

Ross 55 St. James 26
