Senior Spartans alone in third in D10 hoops

ORANGEVILLE – The Centennial Spartans jumped ahead in the race for third place in the District 10 high school senior boys’ basketball league standings with a 67-36 victory over the Orangeville Bears Wednesday.

The win gives Centennial sole possession of third at 9-4 heading into the final day of the regular season. Centre Wellington Falcons lead at 12-1 and have clinched first while the St. James Lions are at 10-3 and will finish second as they swept their two games with Centennial and that would give them the tie-breaker should they finish tied with the Spartans.

Ross Royals and Guelph CVI Green Gaels are tied for fourth at 8-5 and they’re followed by the Lourdes Crusaders at 4-9, Orangeville at 1-12 and Bishop Macdonell Celtics at 0-13.
