Seven goals in a row by Greyhounds sink Storm
SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. – The Guelph Storm struck for the opening goal of the game, but the Soo Greyhounds responded with seven consecutive goals on their way to a 9-4 victory in OHL play Friday night at GFL Memorial Gardens.
The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first period before the hosts scored three times in the second. They added five goals on nine shots in the third period.

Sasha Pastujov, Cam Allen, Luka Profaca and Chase Coughlan fired home single goals for the Storm while Matthew Papais, Daniil Chayka, Jack Harper, Jake Karabela, Matthew Poitras and Allen each had one assist.
Tyler Savard, Rory Kerins and Bryce McConnell-Barker each scored twice for the Greyhounds while Ryan O’Rourke, Tye Kartye and Jordan D’Intino had the other goals. Kerins, Marc Boudreau, Luc Brzustowski, Savard and Tanner Dickinson each had two assists while single helpers were awarded to Jacob Holmes, Robert Calisti, O’Rourke, Cole MacKay and Connor Toms.
Sault Ste. Marie outshot Guelph 42-34 while both teams had four powers plays, the Storm getting one power-play goal and the Greyhounds getting three.
Owen Bennett was charged with the loss in the Guelph net while Samuel Ivanov took the win for the hosts.
The Storm had defeated Soo 4-1 at the Sleeman Centre last Saturday.
The Greyhounds are second in the Western Conference at 9-4-0-0, even on points with the London Knights who are a perfect 9-0-0-0. The Storm’s third at 6-5-1-0.
The teams are to meet again tonight in Sault Ste. Marie. Game time is 7:07 p.m.
