Shamrocks blanked by Dunnville’s unassisted goals

CAMBRIDGE – The Hespeler Shamrocks surrendered unassisted goals in the first and second periods as they suffered a 2-0 loss to the Dunnville Mudcats in Provincial Junior Hockey League play Sunday at the Hespeler Memorial Arena.

Rylan Jacob scored in the first period while Noah Bourdon added the second-period goal.

The Shamrocks outshot Dunnville 32-28, but Austin Davidson stopped all the shots he faced for the shutout for the Mudcats.

Max Parrott had 26 saves for Hespeler.

The Shamrocks were scoreless on six power plays while Dunnville went 0-for-4 with a manpower advantage.

The result leaves the two teams tied for sixth in the eight-team Bloomfield Division with 5-10-0-0 records.

The Shamrocks are to play the Niagara RiverHawks (3-10-0-2) at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
