Shamrocks blanked in second game of series

GLANBROOK – The Hespeler Shamrocks were shut out for the second time in two games in their Provincial Junior Hockey League Bloomfield Division quarter-final playoff series with the Glanbrook Rangers Sunday.

After a scoreless first period, Glanbrook scored three times in the second period on their way to a 7-0 triumph at the Glanbrook arena.

Zach Manazzone tallied twice for Glanbrook and Dawson Shackelton, Jacob Buch, Mathew Rimac, Nicholas Bisser and Sean Golebiowski added a goal apiece. Matthew Hogan, Bisser and Buch each had two assists while single assists were awarded to Lukas VanBerkel, Jamie Caruso, Rimac, Connor King, Connor Maitz and Noah Matteson.

Glanbrook outshot the Shamrocks 45-22 and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Hespeler was scoreless on five power plays.

Chris Brady collected the shutout for Glanbrook while Gavin McLeod was tagged with the loss for Hespeler.

Glanbrook leads the best-of-seven series 2-0 after scoring a 9-0 win in the opener at Hespeler Saturday night.

Third game of the series is slated for Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at the Hespeler Memorial Arena. Fourth game is to go at Glanbrook Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
