Shamrocks dropped by Navy Vets for another road loss
WOODSTOCK – The Hespeler Shamrocks suffered their fifth consecutive road loss in Provincial Junior Hockey League play Friday night as they were downed 6-1 by the Woodstock Navy Vets at the Woodstock District Community Complex.
The win by Woodstock avenged a 5-2 loss to the Shamrocks at the Hespeler Memorial Arena last Sunday.

Woodstock scored twice in the first period and four times in the third for the win while Hespeler’s goal came on a power play with 6:11 to go in the third and it completed the scoring in the game.
Owen Fischer scored that goal, his sixth of the season, on an unassisted effort.
Christian Pelley had a hat trick for Woodstock while Liam Munro, Ben Feijo and Drew Mullett added single goals. Kyle Baker and Patrick Klazer each had two assists while single assists were given to Eric Tuori, Caden Bower, Mack Easter, Jonah Jacksteit and Feijo.
The Navy Vets outshot Hespeler 48-31 including a 17-2 advantage in the first period.
Brandon Snider had 42 saves for the Shamrocks while Keaghan Brett had 30 saves for Woodstock.
Both teams had a power-play goal.
Woodstock is third in the Doherty Division at 8-2-2-0 while the Shamrocks are fifth at 4-8-0-0.
The game was the first of a three-in-three weekend for the Shamrocks as they’re to play the Burford Bulldogs (seventh at 0-10-1-1) at the Burford Arena Saturday at 7:20 p.m. and host the Tavistock Braves (second at 9-3-1-0) at the Hespeler Memorial Arena Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
