Shamrocks yield two goals each period in loss to Glanbrook

GLANBROOK – The Hespeler Shamrocks surrendered two goals in each period in a 6-1 loss to the Glanbrook Rangers in Provincial Junior Hockey League play Wednesday night at the Glanbrook Arena.

Glanbrook led 2-0 at the end of the first period and 4-1 after the second.

Kyle Wagner scored the lone goal for Hespeler while Anthony Zakhary and Noah Trudeau assisted on the goal.

Connor Maitz and Noah Matteson tallied twice each for Glanbrook while Zach Manazzone and Connor McQuhae also scored. Keaton Kewley and Matt Stayshyn each had two assists while Maitz, Matteson, Mitch Rossit and Dallas Nadasdi each had one.

Glanbrook outshot Hespeler 50-22 including a 38-8 margin in the first two periods.

Hespeler was 0-for-2 on its power play while Glanbrook was 0-for-3.

Connor Pickard made 40 saves for the Shamrock, but took the loss. Rahul Bola had 21 saves in the Glanbrook net.

Glanbrook leads the Bloomfield Division at 11-0-0-1 while Hespeler is seventh at 2-9-0-0.

The Shamrocks are to battle the Hagersville Hawks Saturday at the Hagersville arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
