Sheridan, Dowling-Medley take top spots in Highland Games 10K

FERGUS – Joe Sheridan of Waterloo ran to the win in Sunday morning’s Fergus Highland Games 10K while Jenn Dowling-Medley, the Fergus native who’s now based in Vancouver, was the top female finisher, third overall.

Sheridan finished the race in 34 minutes, 46.6 seconds while runner-up Ryan Banks of Belwood was 2:12.7 behind. Former Guelph Gryphon and Centre Wellington Falcon Dowling-Medley was third in 37:26.4.

Rounding out the top 10 were Paul Braun of Kitchener fourth at 43:07.4, Don McLean of Elora fifth at 44:34.4, Stephanie Zammit of Orangeville sixth at 45:40.9, Stephanie Shaw of Belwood seventh at 46:49.6, Tim Hutton of Brantford eighth at 47:12.4, Michael Kolodziej of Ayr ninth at 47:46.4 and Tanya Columbus of Barrie 10th at 48:08.1.

The race had 47 finishers.
