Sheridan legs out slim win in Highland Games 10K
CENTRE WELLINGTON – Joe Sheridan of Waterloo hung on for a slim win in the Fergus Highland Games 10K road race Sunday.
Sheridan was first to finish, winning in 34 minutes and 34.0 seconds. That was 21 seconds quicker than runner-up Henry Kipsang of Toronto. Liam Ogilvie of Fergus was third overall in 37:51.8.
Top female finisher was Tanya Porcellato of Guelph who was fifth overall in 40:54.6 while Robin Todd of Cambridge was second in class and 10th overall in 43:41.7.
A total of 71 participants completed the race, many adorned in tartan colours.
