Six Nations silences Guelph Regals in second half

HAGERSVILLE – The Guelph Regals were held to a pair of goals in the second half of their Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League game with the Six Nations Rebels to suffer a 12-6 loss Friday night at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

The teams were tied 2-2 at the end of the first period before the Regals grabbed a 4-3 lead less than three and a half minutes into the second period. However, Six Nations led 7-5 at the end of the period.

Dallon Evans had a hat trick for the Regals while Joel Stevens scored twice and Ethan Warden added the other goal. Ethan Keleher and Evans each had three assists while Sam MacDonald, Parker Lock, Tyler Beecraft and Aiden Marroni had one apiece.

Anahilis Doxtator and Damon Doxtator each scored three times for Six Nations while single goals were added by Rowisonkier Barnes, Landon General, Cole Powless, Deeland Martin, Shaki Swamp and Ryan Hess scored once apiece.

The Rebels outshot the Regals 57-42 and went 3-for-4 on their power play while the locals went 2-for-6.

Dante Mancini had 45 saves in the Guelph net while Cal Hill had 36 for Six Nations.

The Regals reach the midway point of their regular season at 5-5-0 while Six Nations is at 5-4-0.

The Regals are to host the Owen Sound North Stars (5-3-0) Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Victoria Road arena.
