Spartans, Celtics keep unbeaten records in girls’ soccer

GUELPH – The Centennial Spartans and Bishop Macdonell Celtics remained unbeaten as the District 10 high school girls’ soccer league passes the midway mark of its regular season Thursday.

The Spartans won their fourth match in as many games as they downed the St. James Lions 9-1 while Bishop Mac’s 2-2 tie with the Orangeville Bears kept them undefeated with a 2-0-2 record.

League play resumes next week with games scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Bishop Macdonell 2 Orangeville 2

Kya Jacobs and Adrienne Fraser had the goals for Bishop Mac.

Broom and Viveiros tallied for Orangeville. The Bears have tied three of their four games.

 

Guelph CVI 2 Centre Wellington 1

Claudia Dao scored both goals for GCVI who recorded their first victory of the season and are at 1-2-1.

Taylore Hogenhout had the lone goal for Centre Wellington who suffered their first loss of the season and are at 1-1-2.

 

Ross 6 Lourdes 0

Scoring details were not reported.

The Royals improved to 3-1-0 while the Crusaders are at 0-4-0.
