Spartans, Crusaders soccer girls add to tie totals

GUELPH – The Centennial Spartans and Lourdes Crusaders each collected their second ties of the season as the District 10 high school girls’ soccer league crossed the halfway point of its regular season Tuesday.

Sam Capito connected for the goal for Centennial.

Rowan Mulder tallied for Lourdes.

Ross Royals lead the league at 4-0-0 and they’re followed by the St. James Lions at 3-1-0, Centennial and Bishop Macdonell Celtics each at 1-1-2, Orangeville Bears at 1-1-1, Guelph CVI Green Gaels at 1-2-0, Lourdes at 0-2-2 and Centre Wellington Falcons at 0-3-1.

All eight teams are to gather at the Gryphon Soccer Complex Thursday where each team will play twice.

With the exception of a postponed game Tuesday between Guelph CVI and Orangeville that needs to be rescheduled, that’ll leave next Tuesday’s slate of four games to complete the regular season.

The league’s quarter-finals are slated for May 12 with the semifinals May 17 and the championship match May 20.


St. James 5 Bishop Macdonell 2

Elivia Garbuio scored twice for St. James while O. Pozzobon, T. Amlampalam and M. Mueller added single goals.

BMAC – Martina Vair scored both goals for Bishop Mac.


Ross 3 Centre Wellington 0

Scoring for Ross were Ayla Bernhard with two goals and Lila Martin with one.


Guelph CVI at Orangeville

This game was postponed.
