Spartans pick up their first win of girls’ rugby season
GUELPH — The Centennial Spartans struck for nine tries as they downed the Westside Thunder 49-0 for their first victory of the District 4/10 high school girls’ rugby season.
Ellahe Hussein scored three of those tries while Riley Duell scored two of them and Sarah Fiala, Steph Coates, Lucy Mason and Emmie Pierce had one apiece. Meadow Funkenhauser kicked two converts.

Saneika Patterson collected two tries for the Royals while single tries were added by Michelle Hopkins, Aniela Breen, Vanessa Thongsomsanith and Paisley Frasson. Anna Bernardi kicked five converts.

The Royals scored seven tries in their season-opening victory.
Matt Duff and Will Helyar had two tries apiece.

Six players had a try apiece for the Falcons in the win.
Scoring the tries for the hosts were Caleb Willmets, Hunter Oullette, Cameron Rodrigue, Tyler Roberts, Reuben Bowley and Ethan Kosempel.
