Spartans tie for first after girls’ hockey whitewash win

GUELPH – The Centennial Spartans moved into a tie for top spot in the District 10 high school girls’ hockey league standings as they dropped the Guelph CVI Green Gaels 11-0 at Exhibition arena Thursday.

The Spartans and Centre Wellington Falcons each have six points, but Centre Wellington has a game in hand.

Kyra Beuttenmiller connected for five goals for Centennial while Brinley Huether had a hat trick.

Tessa Utley picked up the shutout.

 

Ross 3 Lourdes 0

Ross blanked Lourdes Wednesday at Exhibition arena.

Emma Collier had the shutout for the Royals while Ella Parisotto and Forest Walker scored two of the goals. The other scorer wasn’t reported.
