Spartans to face Resurrection in CWOSSA semifinal

GUELPH – The District 10 champion Centennial Spartans are to play the District 8 champion Resurrection Phoenix of Kitchener in next week’s CWOSSA football semifinals.

Thursday, Resurrection defeated the District 5/9 champion Paris Panthers in the lone quarter-final match 28-7 at St. David high school in Waterloo.

The Centennial-Resurrection semifinal is slated for Wednesday at 6 p.m. at St. David.

The winner advances to both the CWOSSA final Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Alumni Stadium and the OFSAA football bowls festival at Alumni Stadium Nov. 28 to 30.

Resurrection won all six of its regular-season games, outscoring its opponents 210-10. The Phoenix won their league final 28-10 over the St. Benedict Saints of Cambridge.
