Guelph United U19s leave Burlington SC behind

GUELPH – Guelph United ran to a 4-1 victory over Burlington SC in League1 Ontario Men’s U19 Reserve soccer league play Thursday night at Eastview Park.

Goal scorers were not available.

The win lifts Guelph United to fourth place in the West Conference with a 2-1-2 record while the loss was the first of the season for Burlington SC. Burlington falls to 3-1-1.

Next game for Guelph United is set for June 9 as they’re to play Rush Canada at Oakville’s Sheridan Trafalgar Campus June 9 at 7 p.m.

 

Guelph Royals post shutout win in OSL Provincial West play

GUELPH – The Guelph Royals claimed a 4-0 victory over Distinctionz SC in Ontario Soccer League Provincial West play Thursday at the Centennial Bowl.

Daniel Keir had the clean sheet for the locals.

Scoring a goal apiece were Andrew Chung, Niklas Bauer, James Templeman and Stefano Zicarelli.

The Royals lead the seven-team league at 2-0-0 while Distinctionz falls to 0-2-0.

The Royals are to host Mississauga Croatia (1-0-0) next Thursday at 9 p.m. at Centennial Bowl.

 

HEADS United U21 women in deadlock with Ancaster Legacy

HILLSBURGH – HEADS United battled Ancaster Legacy FC to a 2-2 standoff in Ontario Women’s Soccer League South Region U21 play Thursday night at Barbour Field.

Keira Pherson scored both goals for HEADS United while Mary Difonzo and Kendra Sieders netted single goals.

The result leaves HEADS United at 0-1-1 and Ancaster at 1-1-1.

HEADS United is to host Cambridge United (1-1-0) Tuesday at 9 p.m. at Barbour Field.

 

Puslinch Predators U21 women double Storm FC to square record

ORANGEVILLE – Puslinch Predators evened their record at a win and a loss in Southwest District Soccer League U21 Women’s play Thursday night at the Orangeville Lions Sports Park with a 4-2 win over Storm FC.

Emma Capper had a hat trick for the Predators while Kaitlin Belle DeSantis had the other goal.

Vicky Tarasow and Alyssa Rivett tallied for Storm FC.

Storm FC drops to 1-2-0 with the loss.

The Predators are to host Cambridge United (0-3-0) next Thursday at 7 p.m. at Badenoch Field.

 

FEDS United U21 men nipped by FC Berlin

FERGUS – FEDS United was edged 2-1 by FC Berlin in Southwest District Soccer League U21 Men’s play Thursday night at Victoria Park.

Owen Oelschlagel had the lone goal for FEDS United.

Scoring for FC Berlin were Jimmy Goodliffe and Brandon Barnard.

The loss was the third in as many outings for FEDS United while FC Berlin improves to 2-1-0.

FEDS United is to host FFTW Academy (3-2-0) next Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Victoria Park.

 

Guelph Royals blanked by FC Berlin in KDSL Premier play

ELMIRA – The Guelph Royals were blanked 4-0 by FC Berlin in Kitchener and District Soccer League Premier Division play Wednesday night at Lions Park.

Ognjen Ivanovic scored all four goals for FC Berlin.

That loss followed a 5-0 setback to Owen Sound United last Sunday at the Guelph Lake Sports Fields.

Simon Petersen had a hat trick for Owen Sound while single goals were added by Aaron Illman and Bobbie Ultee.

The Royals are at 0-3-0 while Owen Sound United is at 1-0-0 and FC Berlin is at 1-1-0.

The Guelph side is to play their third game in a week Friday when they’re to host Polish Eagles Red Kitchener (2-0-0) at 7 p.m. at the Guelph Lake Sports Fields.
