St. James connects to slip by Centre Wellington

GUELPH – The St. James Lions received a 27-point performance from Grace Mencfeld as they edged the Centre Wellington Falcons 54-49 in District 10 high school senior girls’ basketball play Tuesday at St. James.

Olivia Brown added 14 points for the Lions.

Frances Wolkensperg led Centre Wellington with 14 points while Sadie Sinclair followed with 12.

Alicia Higgins struck for 13 points for Bishop Mac while Allie Churchill added 12.

Eve Elford had seven for GCVI and Shannon Westwood contributed six.

 

Junior

Centennial 40 Lourdes 17

Kayla Hooper netted 14 points to lead Centennial while Chiara Morin added 12 and Josie Morgan collected six.

Alex Tessier and Ashley Pallaya each had four for Lourdes while Melia Tessel gathered three.

 

Centre Wellington 43 St. James 33

Cassidy Tindall’s 12 points sparked Centre Wellington.

Melia Plozzer had a game-high 14 for St. James.
