Stevenson, Robinson, Hall football players of week

GUELPH – Running back Kaine Stevenson (offence), defensive lineman Tavius Robinson (defence) and Anthony Hall (special teams) are the Guelph Gryphons football players of the game for their 39-13 win over the Waterloo Warriors at Waterloo Saturday.

Stevenson turned in his first 100-yard rushing game against Waterloo as he churned ahead for 194 yards on 21 carries and also had a hat trick of touchdowns. The performance moves Stevenson to fifth among OUA rushers with 323 yards.

Robinson sacked Waterloo quarterback Tre Ford three times as he helped the Gryphs hold Waterloo to a single touchdown. Robinson has four sacks this season, second in the OUA behind teammate’s Alain Cimankinda’s 4.5.

A converted fullback who spent last season as a linebacker, Hall had two tackles on kickoff coverage and also had a key block in a 41-yard punt return by Jordan Terrio. Hall is a member of four special teams units as he’s on kickoff and punt coverage as well as kickoff and punt return.

The Gryphs (3-1) are to host the Western Mustangs (4-0) in league play Saturday at Alumni Stadium. Game time is 1 p.m.
