Storm hit for four in a row to top Sarnia

SARNIA – The Guelph Storm struck for four consecutive goals and held the Sarnia Sting scoreless after the first period as they skated to a 5-1 victory in Ontario Hockey League play Friday night at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first period before the Storm scored twice in the second and added two more in the third.

The Storm limited the Sting to three shots in the final period and held a 34-19 advantage in shots on net.

Valentin Zhugin, Cam Allen, Charlie Paquette, Brayden Guy and Danny Zhilkin each had a goal for Guelph while Sasha Pastujov had three assists and Michael Buchinger had two. Single assists were awarded to Zhilkin, Jake Karabela, Matthew Papais and Luka Profaca.

Nolan Dann scored for Sarnia, with help from Ty Voit.

Jacob Oster had 18 saves for the win in net for the Storm while Anson Thornton had 29 saves for Sarnia.

The Storm went 3-for-6 on their power play and held Sarnia scoreless on four power plays.
