Storm sends Primeau to North Bay for draft picks

GUELPH – The Guelph Storm has sent centre Mason Primeau to the North Bay Battalion for a pair of second-round draft picks.

The 6-foot-5, 182-pound Primeau was the Storm’s second-round pick, 22nd overall, in 2017.

The Battalion gave up second-round picks in the 2020 and 2022 drafts to get Primeau who had three goals, four assists and 14 penalty minutes in 21 games this season. He had seven goals, six assists and 30 penalty minutes in 60 games last season.

Primeau made his debut with North Bay Thursday night in a 1-0 loss to the Barrie Colts.

The Storm, who have lost four of their last five games – one in overtime and two in shootouts – are to host the Flint Firebirds Friday at 7:30 p.m. and London Knights Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
