Storm slip by Otters with second-period tallies
ERIE, Pa. – A pair of goals in the second period gave the Guelph Storm a 3-2 victory over the Erie Otters in Ontario Hockey League play Saturday night at the Erie Insurance Arena.
The Otters had led 2-1 at the end of the opening period, but the Storm shot ahead with their second-period goals.

Braeden Bowman struck for the winner on an unassisted effort at 13:54 of the second period.
Danny Zhilkin and Matthew Poitras scored the other goals for Guelph while Marko Sikic, Jake Karabela and Luka Profaca each had an assist.
Brendan Sellan and Cameron Lowe scored about five and a half minutes apart in the first period for Erie. Assists went to Christian Kyrou and Kaleb Smith.
The Storm outshot the Otters 39-27 including an 18-6 advantage in the second period. Neither team registered a power-play goal. The Storm had six power plays, two more than Erie.
Jacob Oster collected the win in the Guelph net with 25 saves while Nolan Lalonde had 36 saves for Erie.
The Storm is second in the Western Conference at 12-6-1-1 while Erie is 10th at 5-12-1-0. London Knights lead the conference at 15-4-1-0.
The Storm have won seven of their last eight games and are to host the Otters Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Sleeman Centre.
