
Storm slip by Owen Sound with goal late in third
GUELPH – Jett Luchanko’s goal with about a minute and a half to go in the third period lifted the Guelph Storm to a 4-3 victory over the Owen Sound Attack in OHL play Friday night at the Sleeman Centre.
The teams traded goals throughout the game. The Storm never trailed, but never led by more than a goal.

The Storm led 2-1 at the end of the first period and the score was tied 3-3 after the second.
Max Namestnikov, Michael Buchinger and Chase Coughlan had the other goals for the Storm while Matthew Poitras had a pair of assists. Single assists were awarded to Buchinger, Ryan McGuire, Valentin Zhugin, Braeden Bowman and Luchanko.
Scoring for Owen Sound were Matthew Papais, Kaleb Lawrence and Julian Fantino. Nolan Seed had two assists while James Petrovski, Servac Petrovsky, Matthew Papais and Sam Sedley had one each.
The Attack outshot the Storm 32-31 and went 1-for-4 on their power play while the Storm went 1-for-3.
Brayden Gillespie had 29 saves for the Storm while Nick Chenard had 27 saves.
Guelph is 10th in the Western Conference at 10-15-2-1 while Owen Sound is fifth at 16-9-1-1.
The Storm and Attack are to play again Saturday at Owen Sound’s Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
The Storm are also to host the league-leading Ottawa 67’s (21-5-0-1) at the Sleeman Centre Sunday at 2 p.m.
