
Storm triple Kingston for sixth win in seven games
GUELPH – The Guelph Storm remained hot in OHL play Sunday as they tripled the Kingston Frontenacs 6-2 at the Sleeman Centre.
It was the Storm’s sixth win in seven games.

The Storm started on their way to the win by scoring the first three goals of the match. They led 2-0 at the end of the first period and 5-2 after the second.
Max Namestnikov hit for a pair of goals for the locals while single tallies were added by Michael Buchinger, Jake Karabela and Chandler Romeo. Braeden Bowman, Buchinger and Ryan McGuire each had two assists while Cooper Walker, Jake Murray, Cam Allen and Charlie Paquette each had one.
Christopher Thibodeau and Thomas Budnick scored for Kingston while Owen Outwater and Gabriel Frasca collected single assists.
The Storm outshot the Frontenacs 30-19 and both teams had a power-play goal, the Storm on two power plays and Kingston on three.
Brayden Gillespie had 17 saves for the Storm. Ivan Zhigalov started in net for Kingston and had 16 saves before being replaced by Mason Vaccari at 13:37 of the second period with Guelph leading 5-1. Vaccari had eight saves in the remainder of the game.
The Storm is seventh in the Western Conference at 19-19-4-1 while Kingston is sixth in the Eastern Conference at 21-20-1-1.
The Storm is to continue its four-game homestand with two more games next weekend as they’re to host the Owen Sound Attack (third in Western Conference at 23-15-4-1) Friday at 7:30 p.m. and the Sudbury Wolves (eighth in Eastern Conference at 17-19-3-2) Sunday at 2 p.m.
