Sweeps way of day in senior girls’ volleyball

GUELPH – Sweeps were the trend Tuesday in District 10 high school senior girls’ volleyball play as all four matches ended in 3-0 scores.

Ross Royals defeated the Orangeville Bears 25-8, 25-22, 25-12.

Bishop Macdonell Celtics downed the Centre Wellington Falcons 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.

St. James Lions dropped the Lourdes Crusaders 25-16, 25-10, 25-19.

Guelph CVI Green Gaels disposed of the Centennial Spartans 25-20, 25-19, 25-23.

Ross and Bishop Mac are tied for the league lead at 10-1 and they’re to meet Thursday at Bishop Mac. St. James is third at 9-3 and is followed by Centre Wellington at 6-5, Guelph CVI at 5-6, Centennial at 3-8, Orangeville at 2-9 and Lourdes at 0-11.

Thursday’s games are to be the final ones before a two-week exam break.
