
Tenhag lifts Patriots to win over Kincardine
MOUNT FOREST – Ben Tenhag’s goal with 3:01 to go in the third period kept the Mount Forest Patriots unbeaten in Provincial Junior Hockey League play this season as the Patriots edged the Kincardine Bulldogs 4-3 Saturday night at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex.
The Patriots have won all 10 of their league games this season.

The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of the first period and Mount Forest led 3-2 after the second.
Elijah Brahaney scored a pair of goals 23 seconds apart in the second period for Mount Forest while Reid Caswell and Tenhag had single goals. Dylan Szymanowski and Aaron McGuirk each had two assists while Evan Dewar, Cameron Lytle, Riley Torrie and Jordan Leitch each had one.
Harrison Meulensteen, Carter Servais and Kieran Moore each had a goal for Kincardine Steven Grant had two assists and single assists went to Brennan Long, Cooper Schneider, Meulensteen and Servais.
Kincardine outshot the Patriots 29-27 and went 1-for-4 on their power play while Mount Forest was scoreless on five power plays.
Tristan Szymanowski had 26 saves for the Patriots while Christian DeJong had 23 saves for Kincardine.
The Patriots, first in the Pollock Division, have a pair of road games next weekend as they’re to play the sixth-place Walkerton Capitals (2-6-0-1) at the Walkerton Community Centre Friday at 7:30 p.m. and the second-place Mitchell Hawks (7-2-1-0) at the Mitchell Arena Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
