Third-period goals lift Ross Royals to win

GUELPH – The Ross Royals scored four times in the final seven minutes of the game to claim a 6-3 victory over the Wellington Heights Wolverines in District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey Friday at the West End arena.

Wellington Heights had taken the early lead with two goals in the final minute of the first period. Ross pulled even with a pair of goals in the second before the Wolverines regained the lead about six and a half minutes into the third. Ross started its comeback about 30 seconds later.

Connor Snedden connected for a pair of goals for Ross while Chris Cabeldu, Cam Knight, Adam Best and Adam Nightingale added single goals. Pat Nyman had four assists while Jackson Wahl had three and Best and Snedden each had one.

Alex Iles, Jack Weiser and Brody Leblanc scored for Norwell while Will Lewis had an assist.
