Third shutout win of month for Falcons hockey girls

FERGUS – The Centre Wellington Falcons skated to their third shutout victory of December as they blanked the St. James Lions 7-0 in District 10 high school girls’ hockey play Thursday at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.

Keira Healey struck for a pair of goals while single goals were netted by Faith Willmets, Addison Oakes, Jadynn McCracken, Avery Diljee and Abigale Kirk. Ellen Bouwman, Diljee and Hannah Turner each had two assists while single assists were awarded to Alli Pettifer, Olivia Kosempel, Yasmin Morreau, Charlee Spike and Oakes.

The Falcons are the lone undefeated team in the league as they lead at 7-0-0-0. Centennial Spartans and Ross Royals are both at 3-2-0-0 while the Lourdes Crusaders are at 3-3-0-0. St. James follows at 1-4-0-0 and the Guelph CVI Green Gaels are at 0-6-0-0.

Centre Wellington has outscored its opponents 54-6.
