
Thistles ride quick start to win over Six Nations
FERGUS – The Fergus Thistles scored the first four goals of the game to start on their way to an 11-4 victory over the Six Nations Stealth in Ontario Junior C Lacrosse League play Thursday night at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
Three of those goals came in the first period while the Thistles stretched their lead to 8-3 by the end of the second.

The Thistles had two power-play goals and a shorthanded score in the match, but also yielded a pair of shorthanded goals late in the second period.
A total of 13 players picked up points for Fergus led by Jon-James Lavigne with two goals and four assists. Curtis Dietrich and Brinley Wilson each had two goals and two assists while Carter Coffey had two goals and one assist. Brock Redwood and Brock Reinhart each collected a goal and an assist while J.J. Swanston had two assists and Owen Tovell also had a goal. Getting one assist apiece were Brodie Rice, Kaiden Patterson, Ryan McDougall, Aiden McDougall and Cole Doherty.
Tylan Hill had two goals for Six Nations while Dalen Burning and Kevin Henhawks added single goals.
Ethan Bratton picked up the win in net for the Thistles.
The Thistles are second in the West Division at 8-2-0 while Six Nations is fifth at 4-7-0. Orangeville Northmen lead at 9-1-0.
The Thistles are to play the fourth-place Brantford Warriors (6-4-0) Friday at 8 p.m. at the Brantford and District Civic Centre.
