Three Guelph Royals IBL all-stars in 2019

GUELPH – Three members of the Guelph Royals were named to the Intercounty Baseball League’s all-star teams.

Designated hitter Sean Reilly was Guelph’s lone first-team all-star. Picked to the second team were second baseman Josh Garton and third baseman Angel Villalona.

Reilly hit .355 in the regular season with 12 homers and 28 stolen bases.

Garton hit .300 with nine homers and 25 RBIs.

Villalona hit .345 with seven homers and 27 RBIs.

Jordan Castaldo of the Barrie Baycats, league champions for a sixth consecutive year, was named the Rawlings IBL Most Valuable Player. He hit .453 with 15 homers and 47 RBIs.

Welland Jackfish first baseman Brendon Dadson was the rookie of the year after hitting .321 with a homer, nine doubles, two triples and 19 RBIs.

Barrie had four players named to the first team while the Hamilton Cardinals had three and the Kitchener Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs had two apiece. Welland, London Majors and Brantford Red Sox were not represented on the first team.
