Trio of teams tied for second in D4 girls’ hockey

ORANGEVILLE — The Wellington Heights Wolverines, Westside Thunder and Erin Raiders left the Adler Street arena tied for second in the District 4 high school girls’ hockey standings following the district’s gathering there Thursday.

The three teams each have 10 points. Norwell Varsity Reds, the lone team not at the meet, have clinched first with three games to go as they’re at 8-0-1. Wellington Heights and Westside are each at 5-4-0 while Erin is at 4-6-2 and has completed its regular season. Centre Dufferin Royals trail at 0-8-1 and won’t qualify for the playoffs.

The league is to complete its regular season Thursday when all but the Raiders play in the mini-tournament at the Shelburne arena.

Morgan Sadler struck for four of the goals for Erin. The other scorer wasn’t reported.

Bella Dellelce and Miranda Wheeler had a goal apiece for Westside.
