
Undefeated Spartans remain atop girls’ soccer loop
FERGUS – The Centennial Spartans kept their undefeated spot atop the District 10 girls’ soccer league standings Thursday when they blanked the Centre Wellington Falcons 4-0 at Centre Wellington.
Sam Cuputo, Sydney Coolman, Sohie Danker and Kiara Harris had a goal apiece for Centennial.
The win was the sixth in as many league outings for the Spartans while the Falcons dropped to 1-2-2.
Ross 3 Bishop Macdonell 0
M. Chin, L. Martin and G. Waller each had a goal for Ross.
Ross is at 4-1-0 while the loss was the first of the season for Bishop Mac. The Celtics are at 3-1-2.
Orangeville 14 Lourdes 0
Mills had a hat trick for Orangeville while Witte, Baldasarra, Seebek and Watt scored twice apiece. Single goals were netted by Gowing, Wheeler and Hazell-Schell.
It was Orangeville’s first win of the season. The Bears stand at 1-2-3 while Lourdes is at 0-6-0.
St. James 4 Guelph CVI 1
O. Pozzobon had a pair of goals for St. James while singletons were added by M. Lawson and C. Arsenio.
E. Merhar scored for GCVI.
The result leaves St. James at 2-2-2 and GCVI at 1-4-1.
