United back on victory path after win over Woodbridge

VAUGHAN – Guelph United struck for three second-half goals including two four minutes apart as they handed the Woodbridge Strikers a 4-1 setback in League1 Ontario Men’s Premier soccer play Sunday night at Vaughan Grove.

United scored the lone goal of the first half, 15 minutes into the half, and then added to the lead with their quick pair 15 minutes into the second half.

Tomasz Skublak scored a pair of goals while Parmpreet Johal and Jack Sears added single goals.

Damion Kaye struck for Woodbridge with three minutes to go in regulation time.

Sam Spoelstra was in net for the win for United.

The win lifts United’s record to 2-1-1 while Woodbridge falls to 2-2-0.

Next game for United is a home match against Master’s FA (0-3-1) Thursday at 8 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.

That game will be the first five home games in their next six league outings.
