United U21s remain unbeaten with blanking of Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE – Guelph United struck for a 2-0 victory over Cambridge United in League1 Ontario Men’s U21 Reserve soccer play Friday night at the Jacob Hespeler field.

The win was the third in as many outings for United and they’re in a four-way tie for first in the eight-team West Division.

United and Tecumseh SC are both at 3-0-0 while Whitecaps London and FC London are both at 3-1-0.

Cambridge United is at 1-2-0.

United has previously defeated St. Catharines Roma 3-0 and BVB IA Waterloo 7-0.

Next up for United is a Monday game at London’s City Wide Soccer field at 9 p.m.

It’ll be the fourth consecutive road game for United, although their match against St. Catharines was at Alumni Stadium, but St. Catharines was the home team.

 

Men’s U19 Reserve

United is also unbeaten in this league and are at 2-0-0 in league play.

ProStars FC of Brampton is also unbeaten at 3-0-0.

The other six teams in the division have lost at least once.

Last Monday United edged Hamilton United 3-2 at Alumni Stadium.

That followed a season-opening 3-0 win over Blue Devils FC of Oakville at Eastview Park May 12.

United is to play Scrosoppi FC at Bishop Reding school in Milton Tuesday starting at 9 p.m.
