Varsity Junior Gryphs downed by Niagara in return to OPFL

GUELPH – The Guelph Junior Gryphons returned to the Ontario Provincial Football League’s Premier Varsity Division with a 38-11 loss to the Niagara Spears Saturday night at Alumni Stadium.

Niagara led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter, 28-0 at halftime and 38-3 at the end of the third quarter.

The game was the first for the Junior Gryphs since the end of the 2017 season as they didn’t participate in the league last year due to a lack of players.
