Varsity Reds hockey boys drop Gaels to move into tie for second

PALMERSTON – The Norwell Varsity Reds moved into a tie for second place in the District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey league standings with an 8-1 victory over the Guelph CVI Green Gaels Friday at the Palmerston arena.

Ben MacRobbie and Caleb Cribbin each scored twice for Norwell while single goals were added by Cohen McIsaac, Will Dennison, Cole Murray and Owen Troyer.

Brett Reynolds had the lone goal for GCVI.

The win lifts Norwell into a tie with the Ross Royals for second in the league with identical 4-1-0-0 records. Centre Wellington Falcons lead at 5-1-0-1.

GCVI is seventh at 1-4-0-0.
