Volleyball season finishes with ties for first in senior & junior

FERGUS – The District 4 high school boys’ volleyball league’s regular season came to an end Wednesday with teams tied for first in both the senior and junior leagues.

The ties involve four different schools with the Westside Thunder of Orangeville and Emmanuel Christian Eagles of Fergus tied for top spot in senior with 9-1 records and the Norwell Varsity Reds of Palmerston and Wellington Heights Wolverines of Mount Forest in the first-place deadlock in junior, also with 9-1 records.

In both leagues, the tied teams split their regular-season games against one another.

In senior, Westside beat Emmanuel Christian 2-0 Oct. 17 and Emmanuel Christian posted a 3-2 win Wednesday. However, Westside will get first thanks to the combined 4-3 score in the matches.
