Westside hockey boys tie league-leaders for first point

ORANGEVILLE — The Westside Thunder picked up their first point of the District 4/10 high school boys’ hockey season Thursday at the expense of the league-leading Centre Wellington Falcons.

The Thunder and Falcons battled to a 3-3 standoff at the Alder Street arena.

Barkley, Coates and Bayles scored a goal apiece for Westside while Sharpe, Brake, Chung and St. Denis each had an assist.

Logan Cameron had a pair of goals for Centre Wellington while Trent Spear scored the other one. Getting one assist apiece were Zac Tofflemire, Dean Sealey and Mark McIntosh.

Westside had lost its previous five league outings while Centre Wellington won each its six previous league matches.
