Westside Thunder reaches .500 mark in girls’ hockey
ORANGEVILLE – The Westside Thunder pulled themselves up to the .500 winning percentage mark with two wins and a loss as four of the District 4 high school girls’ hockey teams gathered at the Alder Street Recreation Centre for more round-robin league play Thursday.
The Thunder defeated the Erin Raiders 6-2 and the Centre Dufferin Royals 6-0, but fell 3-1 to the Wellington Heights Wolverines.
Following the day’s play, the idle Norwell Varsity Reds lead the league at 6-1-2 and are followed by Wellington Heights at 5-2-2, Westside at 3-3-3, Erin at 2-7-3 and Centre Dufferin at 1-4-4.
Final round-robin meeting of the regular season is to be held Feb. 7 at the Shelburne arena with Erin getting the bye.

Danielle Stevenson scored twice for Westside while single goals were added by Cassidy Anyon, Hailey Hoskins, Sara Bridges and Madi Ouellette.
Morgan Sadler scored both goals for Erin.

Madi Mugridge had a pair of goals for Westside and Aliya Santos, Cassidy Anyon, Madi Ouellette and Sofia Mammollitti scored once each.

Molly Nicholson and Morgan Bennington hit for a goal apiece for Centre Dufferin. Hannah Bremner picked up the shutout.
