
Westside Thunder tops boys’ soccer loop at midway point
SHELBURNE – The Westside Thunder lead the District 4 high school varsity boys’ soccer league standings at the midpoint of the regular season.
The seven teams contesting the season gathered Wednesday for games at fields at Shelburne’s Centre Dufferin District High School and Greenwood Park.
Westside won all three of its games, scoring 14 goals in the process. Erin’s first team was the only other undefeated squad with two wins and a tie. Erin and Centre Dufferin Royals both have two teams entered in the league while Westside, Norwell Varsity Reds and Wellington Heights Wolverines have one apiece.
Westside defeated Centre Dufferin 3-0, Norwell 5-2 and Erin Two 6-1.
The teams are to return Monday for the second half of the regular season. Top two teams are to meet in the championship match Oct. 21.

Four players scored a goal apiece for Centre Dufferin — Avery Kitchen, Aaron Newell, Andrew Wisniewski and Amanat Randhawa.
Norwell 3 Wellington Heights 0
Norwell received goals from Cole Kuipers, Daniel Pfeffer and Ryan Van Donkersgoed.
Erin 3 Wellington Heights 0
Chris Cooke had a pair of goals for Erin while Colin Gawthrope scored the other goal.
Erin Two 4 Centre Dufferin Two 1
Collecting a goal apiece for Erin Two were Tucker Miller and Alexandros Vristosio.
Luka Faldore scored for Centre Dufferin Two.
Westside 3 Centre Dufferin 0
Tyler Bradbury had two goals for Westside while Chris Smarek also scored. Everett Garcia had the clean sheet.
Erin 4 Centre Dufferin Two 0
Getting a goal each for Erin were Jace Medieros, Matt Howard, Braden Haddow and Colin Gawthrope.
Westside 5 Norwell 2
Bradbury and Lamb had two goals apiece for Westside. The other scorer wasn’t reported.
Dineen and Vandonkersgood scored for Norwell.
Wellington Heights 3 Erin Two 2
Anthony Allas scored all three goals for Wellington Heights.
Daniel Brooksbank and Kiefer Oomen-Danckert had the goals for Erin Two.

Haddow scored for Erin while Dineen had the goal for Norwell.

Owen VenKavarra and Tyler Bradbury connected for two goals apiece for Westside while Jake Meeker and Ethan Bradbury had one each.
