Westside Thunder wrap up first in D4 girls’ soccer

SHELBURNE – The Westside Thunder clinched a first-place finish in the District 4 high school girls’ soccer league standings Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over the host Centre Dufferin Royals.

That win combined with a tie by the second-place Emmanuel Christian Eagles of Fergus means the Thunder can’t be caught. League play finishes Thursday.

Sara Reynolds and Reagan Scott scored the goals for Westside.

Westside has won all five league games it has played while Emmanuel Christian is assured of a second-place finish as the Eagles are at 3-1-1. The Norwell Varsity Reds of Palmerston are third at 1-3-1 and Centre Dufferin is fourth at 0-5-0.
