Wolverines get a little space atop girls’ hockey league standings

ERIN – The Wellington Heights Wolverines extended their lead atop the District 4 high school girls’ hockey league standings by claiming three wins Thursday at Erin’s Centre 2000 arena.

In D4 girls’ hockey, the teams gather for mini tournaments throughout the season. Thursday’s mini tourney was the third of the season.

The Wolverines defeated the Centre Dufferin Royals 5-0, Westside Thunder 4-1 and Erin Raiders 5-4 to stretch their lead.

Wellington Heights is at 8-1-0-0 while the Norwell Varsity Reds (4-2-0-0) and Centre Dufferin (4-4-0-0) are tied for second, Erin (1-4-0-0) is fourth and Westside (0-6-0-0) is fifth.

T. Van Tol led Wellington Heights with a pair of goals while E. Rooney, Chaise McRobb and Aaila Gade also scored.

Wellington Heights’ goals were scored by Aaila Gade, Chaise McRobb and A. Aiken.

Westside’s scorer was Cassidy Anyon.
