Wolverines, Thunder knotted atop senior hoops standings

ORANGEVILLE – The Wellington Heights Wolverines created a tie for top spot in the District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball standings Wednesday when they slipped by the Westside Thunder 37-32 at Westside.

The result leaves the two teams tied atop the standings at 5-1.

Nina Rodrigues led Wellington Heights with a 13-point outing while Rebekah Sales added eight.

Jaime Wright had 10 for Westside while Ainsley Nevin followed with eight.

 

Centre Dufferin 54 Norwell 15

Centre Dufferin Royals remained in third at 4-2 with the win over the Norwell Varsity Reds (0-6).

Alexis Leid connected for 12 points for Centre Dufferin while Brooke Rutledge netted 11.

Reeghan Rumph had four for Norwell while Ellysse Charlebois collected three.

 

Emmanuel Christian 39 Erin 13

Emmanuel Christian Eagles are fourth as they evened their record at 3-3 with the victory over the Erin Raiders (1-5).

Tessa VanVeen had a game-high 11 points for Emmanuel Christian and Kaitlyn Niezen gathered nine.

Morgan Sadler had five for Erin.

Erin 25 Emmanuel Christian 14

Lauren Bailey struck for six points for Erin.

Trinity Tackema had seven for Emmanuel Christian.

 

Wellington Heights 30 Westside 29

Leah Richardson’s 10 points led Wellington Heights while Caitlyn Noble added six.

Madison Bigler had 10 for Westside and Jenna Witor contributed eight.
