
Woodstock’s five in third helps drop Shamrocks
WOODSTOCK – The Hespeler Shamrocks yielded five goals in the third period as they were dropped 10-3 by the Woodstock Navy Vets in Provincial Junior Hockey League play Tuesday night at the Woodstock Reeves Community Complex.
The teams were tied 2-2 at the end of the first period before Woodstock skated to a 5-2 lead by the end of the second.

Matthew Hayward, Callum Harvey and Brenden Smith had a goal apiece for the Shamrocks while Kyle Wagner picked up two assists and Gavin Logher and Braeden Tyler had one apiece.
Caden Bower connected for a pair of goals for Woodstock while the other goal scorers were Wes Dobbin, Mack Easter, Kyle Baker, Nolan Brett, Braeden Nelson, Dayten Lylyk, Ben Feijo and Sam Barry. Griffin Sinden, Nelson and Tommy Zufelt each picked up three assists while Baker and Eric Tuori had two each and Jordan Thomson, goaltender Keaghan Brett, Jonah Jacksteit, Dobbin, Liam Munro, Barry and Patrick Klazer had one apiece.
Woodstock outshot the Shamrocks 42-29. Each team had a single power play in the game. The Shamrocks scored on theirs while the Navy Vets didn’t score on theirs.
Keaghan Brett had 26 saves to get the win in the Woodstock net while Joseph Clark had 32 saves for Hespeler.
The Shamrocks are scheduled to play twice this weekend as they’re to play the Burford Bulldogs at Burford Saturday at 7:20 p.m. and host the New Hamburg Firebirds Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Hespeler Memorial Arena.
