Centre Dufferin seniors to finish in top three in hoops loop

SHELBURNE – The Centre Dufferin Royals secured a finishing spot in the top half of the six-team District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball league standings Monday with a 39-16 victory over the Erin Raiders at Centre Dufferin.

The result leaves Centre Dufferin in third at 5-2 with three games to play and Erin in fourth at 3-6 with a single game to play.

Westside Thunder lead the league at 8-1 while the Emmanuel Christian Eagles are second at 6-2. Norwell Varsity Reds are fifth at 2-7 and Wellington Heights Wolverines are sixth at 0-6.

Monday, Paula Gaston had 14 points for Centre Dufferin while Callista Daly added eight.

R. Valentine had seven for Erin.

 

Westside 64 Norwell 20

O. Wesley and C. McLean each had 12 points for Westside.

Scoring four apiece for Norwell were Howlett, Peppler and Rumph.

 

Junior Girls’ Basketball

Emmanuel Christian 73 Wellington Heights 8

Hailey T. had 12 points for Emmanuel Christian while Madison Z. netted four for Wellington Heights.
