Centre Dufferin surges to top of senior soccer standings

PALMERSTON – The Centre Dufferin Royals moved to first place in the District 4 high school senior boys’ soccer league standings Monday with a 4-1 win over the Norwell Varsity Reds on the Palmerston arena fields.

Irwin had a hat trick for the Royals while Newell scored the other goal.

P. Dineen scored for Norwell.

Centre Dufferin leads the five-team league at 3-2-1 while the Erin Raiders are at 3-1-0, Norwell is at 3-2-0, Emmanuel Christian Eagles are at 2-4-0 and the Westside Thunder are at 1-3-1.

Joseph Kottelenberg had a pair of goals for Emmanuel Christian and Haaye Bijlsma added a single goal.

S. Belford and A. Lamb scored for Westside.

 

Junior Boys’ Soccer

Wellington Heights Wolverines and Erin Raiders are the only teams competing in the league this year.

The Wolverines blanked the Raiders 6-0 Monday on the Erin Public School field for their second win as they’d won 5-3 in Mount Forest Sept. 25.

Kellen Campos-Callahan struck for a hat trick for the Wolverines while single goals were added by Ben Jordan, Alex Neal and Ruben Seddon. Liam Right claimed the shutout.
