Centre Dufferin win wraps up senior hoops’ regular season

SHELBURNE – The Centre Dufferin Royals completed the District 4 high school senior girls’ basketball league’s regular season with a 47-20 win over the Wellington Heights Wolverines on their home court Monday.

Callista Daly led the Royals with 16 points while Ashley Valade added 12.

A. Andrews and L. Hall had four points apiece for Wellington Heights.

The Westside Thunder of Orangeville finished atop the standings at 9-1 while the Emmanuel Christian Eagles of Fergus were second at 8-2. Both will host semifinal playoff games next Monday. Centre Dufferin was third at 7-3 while Erin Raiders were fourth at 4-6, Norwell Varsity Reds of Palmerston fifth at 2-8 and Wellington Heights of Mount Forest sixth at 0-10.

Monday’s semifinals have Centre Dufferin playing at Emmanuel Christian and Erin playing at Westside.

Winners are to advance to the championship match Nov. 8.
