
Defending champ Falcons skate away with girls’ hockey opener
GUELPH – The defending champion Centre Wellington Falcons opened their District 10 high school girls’ hockey season with a convincing 13-1 victory over the Lourdes Crusaders Wednesday at Exhibition arena.
Leading scorers for the Falcons were Avery Peters with two goals and an assist and Shaylynn Montgomery with a goal and three assists.
Breauna Sanecki scored for Lourdes.
Centre Wellington has won the league’s championship four of the past five seasons while Lourdes last won it a decade ago.
